Horse Racing - National Hunt Courses - Catterick

The North Yorkshire track hosts flat fixtures throughout the summer including the popular Friday Ladies Evening meeting which takes places in August. National Hunt fixtures are staged throughout the winter months.


Although the course doesn’t host racing of the same profile as other Yorkshire rivals, the course did host a future star turn when Collier Hill won a bumper at the course in in 2002 before going on to a glittering career which saw him capture the Irish St Leger, Canadian International and Hong Kong Vase.

Characteristics

1m3f oval track is undulating and sharp which favours the small nippy horse.
The fences are easy.
There is a run in of 240yds.
Good speed figures don't mean much here.
Well balanced front runners perform well
