Beverley Racecourse is a thoroughbred horse racing venue located in the town of Beverley in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The course is situated on the Westwood, a large area of common land that has been used for various sporting activities for centuries.
Beverley Racecourse hosts a number of flat racing fixtures throughout the summer months, typically between April and September. The highlight of the racing calendar is the Beverley Bullet Sprint Stakes, a Group Three race run over 5 furlongs in August. The course also hosts a number of themed racedays and family-friendly events, such as family days, Ladies' Day, and a Beer Festival Raceday.
The course itself features a modern grandstand, which offers excellent views of the track, as well as a variety of bars and restaurants. There is also a picnic area and a children's play area, making it a great day out for all the family.
The racecourse itself is a flat, left-handed oval track, approximately 1 mile and 3 furlongs (2.3 km) in circumference. The course is fairly tight, with a number of sharp turns, and is considered to be quite challenging for horses, particularly over the final furlong.
